What does OHIP cover?
OHIP will cover eye exams once a year for children 19 years and under and seniors 65 year and older. For patients between the ages of 20-64 years of age, OHIP will cover an eye exam if the patient suffers from a condition that can affect the eyes (eg. diabetes, retinal disease, amblyopia, corneal disease etc). Initial visits require a referral from their physician.
